Josh and Jenna Densten are the darlings of the interior design community. Recently winning an award for their renovation of 1870’s cottage in inner-city Melbourne. While the two are busily working on exciting new projects, Josh took the time to talk with us about how becoming a Dad changed their lives.
Please give us a few sentences about yourself.
My name is Josh, I have a lovely wife Jenna and a one-year-old daughter named Freddie. We were on The Block in 2011 and 2013 and pleased to say we won’t be doing that again!
I’m a plumber by trade and my wife is an interior designer. Together we have a design business named Bicker.
When did you become a parent? Tell us a little bit about your bub/s.
Freddie is 14 months old and completely changed our world. Although we look forward to putting her to bed at night, we find ourselves looking at photos and videos of her as soon as she’s asleep! She is extremely active, very cheeky and loves to smile and wave at passers-by. She thinks all animals are dogs, all humans are mums and all vehicles are cars ha!
What has been the best thing about having children?
The cliché that it puts everything into perspective. Family it most important and her health and happiness is everything to us now.
What is your favorite thing about your Joolz?
As designers, we were first drawn to the aesthetic. They just look so good! It was also nice to find that it was sturdy and practical too
Do you have a favorite park/ secret spot / walk you go on with bub in your Joolz?
We live near the Children’s Hospital so the Royal Park Nature Playground is our go to! It will be great as Freddie gets a little older too
What has been the biggest challenge since becoming a parent?
Not being able to eat out for dinner anymore! We don’t have family local so it’s been a little tough trying to find a balance between us time and Fred time.
